Danielle R. Furey is a corporate and commercial attorney who focuses her practice on addressing the business needs of clients across various industries. With wide-ranging experience as a large law firm attorney, as well as a corporate executive, Danielle brings a broad skillset to provide clients with practical solutions to complex legal needs.
As an attorney in the Stamford offices of Cummings & Lockwood LLP and then Robinson & Cole LLP, Danielle’s practice has focused on companies, banks, institutional investors and other clients in the areas of corporate and commercial finance. She has primarily represented lenders, such as Bank of America and GE Capital, in syndicated/unsyndicated secured and unsecured transactions and asset-based acquisition and merger financings, as well as borrowers in transactions including refinancings, recapitalizations and sales of accounts receivable.
Prior to joining Cummings & Lockwood, Danielle worked as an attorney and risk manager in the Corporate Trust Department of Deutsche Bank. Her work involved the preparation, negotiation and execution of contracts for asset-backed and auction rate securities products.
Danielle served as Executive Director of Business Operations for Super Fan Fundraising where her work entailed coordinating logistics among customer service, sales and inventory management. She was responsible for collecting and reporting statistical sales and accounting data for use by owners and investors. She also created a training manual for the SAP software system and was responsible for training new associates in data entry and integration.
As a Director and Vice President for Broward Barracudas, Inc., a charitable organization, Danielle drafted the organizational documents and prepared the IRS application for recognition of tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) corporation. Additionally, she was responsible for maintaining corporate records, drafting Board resolutions, securing licensing and insurance to conduct business, and preparing yearly corporate and tax filings.
Danielle received an undergraduate degree from Denison University and earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law. She has been admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut since 1995.
An accomplished triathlete and ultra distance runner, Danielle has won numerous accolades including USATF Florida 50 Mile Trail Age Group Champion and qualification for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. She continues to race and share her experiences by delivering motivational speeches and writing articles.
A native of Connecticut, Danielle lived abroad for several years, and in New York and Florida before returning to Connecticut with her husband of 23 years and their four children. She is a Girl Scout Leader, religious education teacher and sits on the Ways and Means Committee in her local chapter of National Charity League.
